kking90 asked: So yeah this is random lol. I was looking on tumblr things that were tagged marine biology, and you came up a lot. It has always been my dream to be a marine biologist, there is nothing I love or want more. Where do you go to school and is it really difficult to become a marine biologist? I've heard that it is. Really, just let me know anything important. Thank you!

I go to Texas A&M at Galveston. I am a marine biology major, and i love it. It’s hard, but if you put in a lot of work and effort into it.  Almost all classes have fun labs out in the field and i really enjoy this type of work.

tadion asked: I got PADI certified in 8/08. I have over 130 dives, I love to do it, as you can tell by my blog. You can see it's mostly fresh water in the lake, but will soon be the ocean!

I'm looking to move to the south, so I can get into the ocean more, and enjoy the real fish, and scenes that are the ocean.

What do you do for fun when not diving?

I’m a Marine Biology Major, so im in classes all day.  learning about coastal plants and physiology this semester.  Ill be going offshore to the flower gardens next week, and the rest of my semester my dive master class requires me to attend a rescue weekend, two advanced weekends, and an open water weekend. plus im helping out in a lab, which entails me to go to various places around texas to go dry caving. which is one of the most fun things in the entire world. im taking a technical cave class in january in florida so i can be a legit cave diver haha.

This is my new best friend. Her name is Miss Manta Ray. She followed me and my buddy from the morring line into the quadrant where we were doing our fish survey. she came up to my buddy and he put his arm out and she started rubbing her pectoral fin on him. then she preceeds to come over to me as im laying my line for my survey and swims about a foot above me playing in my exhaust bubbles. one of the most amazing experiences of my life.
